It is an expectation that all Downland School learners wear the approved school uniform. Our pupils take great pride in their school and this is always reflected in the way they dress. Spare uniform will be loaned by the School for those who arrive without uniform. Hairstyles must be sensible and within society ‘norms’.
Blue polo shirt
Black polo shirt – Year 11 pupils only
Blue fleece and/or waterproof coat
Black sweatshirt - Year 11 pupils only
Black school shorts
Black shoes or plain black trainers
It is very important that pupils wear the appropriate PE kit for Physical Education. This is also available for purchase from the school, apart from trainers, which should be black and have good grip.
Wicking sport polo
Sport jacket (for winter)
Black sport joggers
Jewellery (which should be restricted to small studs) must not be worn during PE or games lessons for safety reasons. If pierced earrings cannot be removed the children will be requested to tape them for the duration of the lesson.
If it is agreed by the Local Authority that your child is to commence at Downland School then a starting date is negotiated between the parents and school. Parents complete a questionnaire concerning general information and health matters and discuss uniform, sports kit and lunches, with the school.
All uniform and PE kit is available to purchase from school. Please find the order forms, including sizing and prices, below:
Advance warning of price increase: Please note that prices for uniform and PE kit have been increased by our supplier (Jan 2021) and this will result in an increase to the prices we charge once our old stock has been used up. Order forms will be updated with new prices as 'old' stock runs out, but you will be notified of any items in your order that come from the higher priced stock until that time.
