School Lunches
Due to possible supply issues, the menu may change at short notice.
Meal times are an important and enjoyable time at Downland. We aim to provide a wholesome and enjoyable menu and avoid using additives whenever possible. In addition, we appreciate that this is an important time for socialising and learning certain positive behaviours.
We ask parents/carers if a pupil has any known reactions/allergies to food to advise the school immediately. This information is held against the pupil's individual file. A form entitled "Any known allergies" may be obtained from the school office. The information contained in this form is used to inform the Catering Department to enable the weekly Menu to consist of choice for those individuals
Meals are currently £2.50 per day which can be paid weekly, monthly or termly. If you think you may be entitled to free school dinners then please contact the school office and request a form or go to the Wiltshire Council web page.
We have our own kitchen and do all our own catering for pupils, staff and visitors. Our menus are displayed in our dinner hall so that pupils know what is being served. There is a choice of hot or cold food, including a vegetarian option, homemade soup or salads (available daily) and pupils can chose yogurts or fresh fruit.
Helen Sanderson is our Catering Manager (pictured below) who runs the kitchen, along with the catering assistants Sharon and Loli.
